2CO: "Medison has delivered"
By Linus Larsson |
Contradictory information is circulating regarding the $150 dollar computer from Medison. Now 2Checkout, the company facilitating the purchases, says that the first customers have already received their computers. "Customers have contacted us and confirmed that they have received their computers", a spokesperson for the company says to Computer Sweden.
According to american 2Checkout confirmations that the bargain-priced computers now have been delivered have been received during the last days. Probably it is customers in Sweden.
The information is contradicted by statements on a number of internet forums where customers who have placed an order are complaining about deliveries that failed to come. None of the IDG group media, who have contacted a large number of Medison customers, have been able to confirm that any computers have been delivered.
– They (Medison) are an active supplier and have shipped the product. Customers have received the computers, says a spokesperson at 2Checkout's customer service department but refuses to tell his/her name.
So it is customers that have contacted you directly?
– Customers have contacted us and confirmed that they have received their computers.
The same information was later repeated by another employee at the same department of the company.
Medison is using 2Checkout's e-commerce solution. It means that both orders and payments are facilitated by the american company. Thus the company also handles the direct contact with customers.
No certain information exists about which customers it is, but according to 2Checkout it is probable that the first computers have been sent to Swedish customers. Apart from this the company does not comment on the Medison affair.
The Medison company have been controversial since they this spring promised laptop computers for around $150. Many have accused the company of faking deliveries and the date for shipping the computers have been postponed several times. According to the last announcement the computers should have been delivered the last of August.
In the beginning of August the logistics company EMEA Services, thas Medison listed as their logistics partner, denied having a contract with Medision. No new partner have been published and Medisons CEO Valdi Ivancic have stopped answering questions from media.
According to information to the magazine "PC for Alla" Medison have very recently started to transfer money from customers' accounts. Since the sale is made through 2Checkout the money is not supposed to reach Medison until computers have been delivered to the customer.
